  In 1998, Sweeney presided over the funeral of my grandfather and during the talk exaggerated their relationship, saying they were close, personal friends. They were acquaintances, nothing more. My grandmother refused to go back to the church ever again for that audacity. She was spiritually starved until the day she died.
